Some photos of the pretty and Tolkienesque landscapes of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in Scotland.

Spectacular sunset behind the archipelago of Rhum, Eigg, Muck and Skye.
| The view from the window of Tigh na Cladach cottage, where we were staying. Prettily right by the seashore, the atlantic is at high spring tide when this photo was taken. Cute sheepies and lambs frequently visited the garden. |
| The very pretty Castle Tioram. 13th Century, sadly now a ruin but still pleasing on the eye. Also lots of pretty flowers! |
| Pretentious arty photo of Castle Tioram. Very pretty. It took me *ages* to get this one right, as I couldn't look through the viewfinder to aim the shot so I was photographing this blind. Am pleased with the result. |
| Castle Tioram again. I did like this castle! Yay! |
| The lovely sandy beach of Portuairk on a warm sunny day. The sand is very fluffy and soft, and the view of Rhum, Eigg and Muck is spectacular. |
| Defending the sandcastle against the invading tide with intricate defensive walls and moats. Lots of fun and absoultely futile. A few minutes later the entire beach was underwater and the sandcastle no more. *sob* |
| Tobermory, not a womble, but actually a town on the isle of Mull. Not only does Tobermory contain those rare things called *shops* (Portuairk had no shops) but also houses a Whisky distillery. And it is very pretty indeed! |
| Sanna bay from the very wet and windswept top of Beinn Bhuidhe, a nearby hill. The photo also shows the entire hamlet of Portuairk. The cottage on the far left with the red roof is Tigh na Cladach, where we stayed. You can see the isle of Eigg in the background. |
| The nearby beach at low tide. Full of sealife, abandoned by the tide, I find these beaches fascinating and full of curiousities. Like exploring an alien landscape. And it looks like one too. |
| Tigh na Cladach from the beach. |
| Arnamurchan point, the most westerly point of the UK mainland. 23 miles west of Land's End, and very pretty it is too. Stunning views of dozens of Scottish islands, including the Outer Hebrides are visible from the lighthouse. |
| I went hunting for life in rockpools! I found this fish! |
| I found a crab in another rockpool. |
