Warsaw Photos

Towering over Warsaw, this is the massive communist architecture of the Palace of Culture and Science. Complete with Marxist statues around the walls, which are still there, remarkably. Surrounded by pretty parks, with red autumn leaves, where this attempt at a pretentious artistic photo was taken from. Regrettably, this is the only nice post-war building in the whole of Warsaw.

This pretty carving on a house opposite the Royal Palace. The mermaid is the city emblem of Warsaw, and Warsaw is full of such lovely Mermaids. Yay pretty!

The old town square, complete with mermaid statue and the gurgling fountain of doom. Trust me, the fountain gurgles. The 17th century buildings around the square were tragically totally razed to the ground during World War 2 - everything seen here are post-war restorations.

An unusual carving of a cannon on one of the restored buildings, odd thats its shown, as the old town was destroyed by bombardments of a similar kind.

These odd creatures spotted guarding a cafe.

A statue to the greatest Pole ever (in my opinion) - the great Nicolaus Copernicus, who had the audacity to state that the Earth went around the Sun. Heresy, I tell you!
